COMPARISON (SCOTLAND AND CATALONIA: unit 1)

SCOTLAND
:
Scotland is one of the four main regions of Britain. It occupies about one third of the total land area in Edinburgh. Most people live in the countryside. Scotland has got some unusual traditions. Scottish men sometimes wear a kilt rather than trousers. There is a traditional Scottish instrument called the bagpipes. Scotland is famous for its whisky. Whisky is a fruit juice made from barley, yeast and water.

CATALONIA:
Catalonia is an Autonomous Community in northeast Spain. It occupies about 6,3% of total land area in Spain. Barcelona is the capital. Most people live in the cities. "La Sardana" is considered the national dance. It is a dance of group that is danced in rings where the dancers hold their hands. There is a traditional Catalan sport called football. The most important football club of Catalonia is the Barcelona Football Club, which is also called "Barça".
